East Coast Encounter – Day Two

We started the morning by visiting the Immigration Museum at Pier 21. We watched a twenty minute movie about immigrants and their experiences coming to Canada before going off on our own to explore for a few hours. The museum was very interactive and interesting to see how many immigrants arrived to Canada from Pier 21. After that, we walked down to the boardwalk for lunch at KATCH (a local fish and chips shack) and then spent the next four hours walking around, shopping, and exploring. Glasses were lost to the ocean and snails were kidnapped from their homes (and then returned). Some people had ice cream or slushies for dessert. Then, at 5pm, we headed to see some artwork, part of the Halifax Mural Festival, before heading to a dinner theatre which debated which of the 4 Atlantic provinces is the best. The songs were the east coast top hits (they weren’t actually, but still very entertaining). The cast was lovely and they were even our servers as well. The group could collectively agree that the person representing PEI (Shirley-Anne) was the worst because she couldn’t stop referring to Anne Shirley of Green Gables. 🙂 teehee
